specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of IL-31. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between IL-31 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between IL-31 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 1.0 pg/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This IL-31 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of mouse IL-31. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

products description :
Principle of the assay: IL-31 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-IL-31 antibody and an IL-31-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with IL-31-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the IL-31 concentration since IL-31 from samples and IL-31-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-IL-31 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by IL-31 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind IL-31-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The IL-31 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
IL31, which is made principally by activated Th2-type T cells, interacts with a heterodimeric receptor consisting of IL31RA (MIM 609510) and OSMR (MIM 601743) that is constitutively expressed on epithelial cells and keratinocytes. IL31 may be involved in the promotion of allergic skin disorders and in regulating other allergic diseases, such as asthma (Dillon et al., 2004 [PubMed 15184896]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
uniprot summary :
