reactivity :
Rat
specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of DDT. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between DDT and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between DDT and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 1.0 ?g/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This DDT ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Rat DDT. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

products description :
Principle of the assay: DDT ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-DDT antibody and an DDT-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with DDT-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the DDT concentration since DDT from samples and DDT-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-DDT antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by DDT from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind DDT-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The DDT concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The encoded protein catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine. Defects in this gene are the cause of aromatic L-amino-acid decarboxylase deficiency (AADCD). AADCD deficiency is an inborn error in neurotransmitter metabolism that leads to combined serotonin and catecholamine deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]
