reactivity :
Human
specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of INHbetaC. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between INHbetaC and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between INHbetaC and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Sandwich. Sensitivity: 1.0 pg/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This INHbetaC ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human INHbetaC. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

products description :
Principle of the assay: INHbetaC ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for INHbetaC. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and INHbetaC if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of INHbetaC present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for INHbetaC are added to each well to "sandwich" the INHbetaC immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain INHbetaC and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The INHbetaC concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes the beta C chain of inhibin, a member of the TGF-beta superfamily. This subunit forms heterodimers with beta A and beta B subunits. Inhibins and activins, also members of the TGF-beta superfamily, are hormones with opposing actions and are involved in hypothalamic, pituitary, and gonadal hormone secretion, as well as growth and differentiation of various cell types. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
INHBC: Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins appear to oppose the functions of activins. Belongs to the TGF-beta family. Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13.1. Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region. Molecular Function: growth factor activity; hormone activity; cytokine activity; transforming growth factor beta receptor binding. Biological Process: regulation of apoptosis; regulation of MAPKKK cascade; cell development; growth
