products description :
For Samples: Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Intended Uses: This PACAPR ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Rat PACAPR. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications! . Principle of the Assay: PACAPR ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for PACAPR. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and PACAPR if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of PACAPR present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for PACAPR are added to each well to "sandwich" the PACAPR immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain PACAPR and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The PACAPR concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes type I adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide receptor, which is a membrane-associated protein and shares significant homology with members of the glucagon/secretin receptor family. This receptor mediates diverse biological actions of adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide 1 and is positively coupled to adenylate cyclase. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
uniprot summary :
ADCYAP1R1: This is a receptor for PACAP-27 and PACAP-38. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. May regulate the release of adrenocorticotropin, luteinizing hormone, growth hormone, prolactin, epinephrine, and catecholamine. May play a role in spermatogenesis and sperm motility. Causes smooth muscle relaxation and secretion in the gastrointestinal tract. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: GPCR, family 2; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p14. Cellular Component: neuron projection; tight junction; cell surface; rough endoplasmic reticulum; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; caveola; receptor complex; endosome. Molecular Function: neuropeptide binding; ADP-ribosylation factor binding; protein binding; vasoactive intestinal polypeptide receptor activity; receptor activity; adenylate cyclase binding. Biological Process: response to drug; development of primary female sexual characteristics; nerve growth factor receptor signaling pathway; adenylate cyclase activation; response to estradiol stimulus; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; cAMP-mediated signaling; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; response to ethanol; phospholipase C activation; spermatogenesis; cell differentiation; multicellular organismal response to stress; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway
