specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of SELL. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between SELL and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between SELL and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Sandwich. Sensitivity: 1.0 pg/mL.

products description :
Intended Uses: This SELL ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Rabbit SELL. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!. Principle of the Assay SELL ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for SELL. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and SELL if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of SELL present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for SELL are added to each well to "sandwich" the SELL immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain SELL and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The SELL concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a cell surface adhesion molecule that belongs to a family of adhesion/homing receptors. The encoded protein contains a C-type lectin-like domain, a calcium-binding epidermal growth factor-like domain, and two short complement-like repeats. The gene product is required for binding and subsequent rolling of leucocytes on endothelial cells, facilitating their migration into secondary lymphoid organs and inflammation sites. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with various diseases including immunoglobulin A nephropathy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
uniprot summary :
SELL: Cell surface adhesion protein. Mediates the adherence of lymphocytes to endothelial cells of high endothelial venules in peripheral lymph nodes. Promotes initial tethering and rolling of leukocytes in endothelia. Belongs to the selectin/LECAM family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q23-q25. Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane. Molecular Function: heparin binding; protein binding; protease binding; cell adhesion molecule binding; glycosphingolipid binding; carbohydrate binding. Biological Process: regulation of immune response; blood coagulation; cell adhesion; leukocyte migration; response to ATP. Disease: Iga Nephropathy, Susceptibility To, 1
