specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of MC1R. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between MC1R and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between MC1R and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.

products description :
Intended Uses: This MC1R ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human MC1R. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!. Principle of the Assay: MC1R ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-MC1R antibody and an MC1R-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with MC1R-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the MC1R concentration since MC1R from samples and MC1R-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-MC1R antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by MC1R from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind MC1R-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The MC1R concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

uniprot summary :
Receptor for MSH (alpha, beta) and ACTH. Does not seem to be active with gamma-MSH. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylate cyclase. Could be involved in spermatogenesis.
