specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of ANGPTL4. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between ANGPTL4 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between ANGPTL4 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.

products description :
Intended Uses: This ANGPTL4 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Mouse ANGPTL4. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!. Principle of the Assay ANGPTL4 ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for ANGPTL4. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and ANGPTL4 if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of ANGPTL4 present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for ANGPTL4 are added to each well to "sandwich" the ANGPTL4 immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain ANGPTL4 and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ANGPTL4 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a glycosylated, secreted protein containing a C-terminal fibrinogen domain. The encoded protein is induced by peroxisome proliferation activators and functions as a serum hormone that regulates glucose homeostasis, lipid metabolism, and insulin sensitivity. This protein can also act as an apoptosis survival factor for vascular endothelial cells and can prevent metastasis by inhibiting vascular growth and tumor cell invasion. The C-terminal domain may be proteolytically-cleaved from the full-length secreted protein. Decreased expression of this gene has been associated with type 2 diabetes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. This gene was previously referred to as ANGPTL2 but has been renamed ANGPTL4. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
uniprot summary :
ANGPTL4: Protein with hypoxia-induced expression in endothelial cells. May act as a regulator of angiogenesis and modulate tumorigenesis. Inhibits proliferation, migration, and tubule formation of endothelial cells and reduces vascular leakage. May exert a protective function on endothelial cells through an endocrine action. It is directly involved in regulating glucose homeostasis, lipid metabolism, and insulin sensitivity. In response to hypoxia, the unprocessed form of the protein accumulates in the subendothelial extracellular matrix (ECM). The matrix-associated and immobilized unprocessed form limits the formation of actin stress fibers and focal contacts in the adhering endothelial cells and inhibits their adhesion. It also decreases motility of endothelial cells and inhibits the sprouting and tube formation. Protein type: Inhibitor; Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted; Extracellular matrix; Apoptosis. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3. Cellular Component: extracellular space; proteinaceous extracellular matrix; extracellular region. Molecular Function: enzyme inhibitor activity; protein binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of angiogenesis; response to hypoxia; negative regulation of lipoprotein lipase activity; angiogenesis; cellular lipid metabolic process; cell differentiation; protein homooligomerization; negative regulation of apoptosis. Disease: Plasma Triglyceride Level Quantitative Trait Locus
