specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of CD147. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between CD147 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between CD147 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 1.0 pg/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This CD147 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Mouse CD147. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

products description :
Principle of the Assay: CD147 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-CD147 antibody and an CD147-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CD147-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CD147 concentration since CD147 from samples and CD147-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CD147 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CD147 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CD147-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CD147 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma membrane protein that is important in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation, and tumor progression. The encoded protein is also a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
BSG: Plays pivotal roles in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation and tumor progression. Stimulates adjacent fibroblasts to produce matrix metalloproteinases (MMPS). May target monocarboxylate transporters SLC16A1, SLC16A3 and SLC16A8 to plasma membranes of retinal pigment epithelium and neural retina. Seems to be a receptor for oligomannosidic glycans. In vitro, promotes outgrowth of astrocytic processes. Enriched on the surface of tumor cells. Up-regulated in gliomas. Its expression levels correlate with malignant potential of the tumor. Forms homooligomers in a cis-dependent manner on the plasma membrane. Forms a complex with MMP1 at the tumor cell surface. Interacts with SLC16A1 and SLC1A3; probably a BSG dimer is associated with a monocarboxylate transporter dimer. Interacts with ATP1B2, MAG and L1CAM. Interacts with AJAP1. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Immunoglobulin superfamily. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3. Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; focal adhesion; membrane; mitochondrion; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; melanosome; sarcolemma; lipid raft; acrosomal membrane. Molecular Function: mannose binding; protein binding. Biological Process: response to mercury ion; extracellular matrix disassembly; response to peptide hormone stimulus; cellular metabolic process; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; response to cAMP; decidualization; pyruvate metabolic process; blood coagulation; leukocyte migration; embryo implantation; odontogenesis of dentine-containing teeth.
