reactivity :
Human
specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of CETP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between CETP and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between CETP and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Assay Type: Competitive or Sandwich. Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Sensitivity: 0.1 ng/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This CETP ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human CETP. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

products description :
. Principle of the assay: CETP ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for CETP. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and CETP if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of CETP present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for CETP are added to each well to "sandwich" the CETP immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain CETP and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CETP concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is found in plasma, where it is involved in the transfer of cholesteryl ester from high density lipoprotein (HDL) to other lipoproteins. Defects in this gene are a cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia 1 (HALP1). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2013]
uniprot summary :
CETP: Involved in the transfer of insoluble cholesteryl esters in the reverse transport of cholesterol. Defects in CETP are the cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia type 1 (HALP1). Affected individuals show high levels of alpha-lipoprotein (high density lipoprotein/HDL). Belongs to the BPI/LBP/Plunc superfamily. BPI/LBP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Secreted; Vesicle; Secreted, signal peptide; Lipid-binding. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q21. Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region; vesicle. Molecular Function: lipid transporter activity; phospholipid transporter activity; cholesterol transporter activity; cholesterol binding; phosphatidylcholine binding; lipid binding; triglyceride binding. Biological Process: cholesterol metabolic process; receptor-mediated endocytosis; cholesterol transport; lipid homeostasis; lipoprotein metabolic process; lipid transport; phosphatidylcholine metabolic process; cholesterol homeostasis; reverse cholesterol transport; triacylglycerol metabolic process; phospholipid transport; triacylglycerol transport; transmembrane transport; phospholipid homeostasis. Disease: Hyperalphalipoproteinemia 1
