specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of FAAH. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between FAAH and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between FAAH and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 1.0 pg/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This FAAH ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Mouse FAAH. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!
products description :
. Principle of the assay: FAAH ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-FAAH antibody and an FAAH-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with FAAH-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the FAAH concentration since FAAH from samples and FAAH-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-FAAH antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by FAAH from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind FAAH-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The FAAH concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a protein that is responsible for the hydrolysis of a number of primary and secondary fatty acid amides, including the neuromodulatory compounds anandamide and oleamide. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
FAAH: Degrades bioactive fatty acid amides like oleamide, the endogenous cannabinoid, anandamide and myristic amide to their corresponding acids, thereby serving to terminate the signaling functions of these molecules. Hydrolyzes polyunsaturated substrate anandamide preferentially as compared to monounsaturated substrates. Homodimer. Highly expressed in the brain, small intestine, pancreas, skeletal muscle and testis. Also expressed in the kidney, liver, lung, placenta and prostate. Inhibited by O-aryl carbamates and alpha-keto heterocytes. Belongs to the amidase family. Protein type: EC 3.5.1.99; Hydrolase; Membrane protein, integral. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p35-p34. Cellular Component: cytoskeleton; cytoplasm; integral to membrane; endomembrane system. Molecular Function: fatty acid amide hydrolase activity; carbon-nitrogen ligase activity, with glutamine as amido-N-donor; acylglycerol lipase activity. Biological Process: fatty acid catabolic process. Disease: Polysubstance Abuse, Susceptibility To
