specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of FLOT-1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between FLOT-1 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between FLOT-1 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 1.0 ng/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This FLOT-1 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Mouse FLOT-1. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

products description :
Principle of the assay: FLOT-1 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-FLOT-1 antibody and an FLOT-1-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with FLOT-1-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the FLOT-1 concentration since FLOT-1 from samples and FLOT-1-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-FLOT-1 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by FLOT-1 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind FLOT-1-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The FLOT-1 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
Caveolae are small domains on the inner cell membrane involved in vesicular trafficking and signal transduction. FLOT1 encodes a caveolae-associated, integral membrane protein. The function of flotillin 1 has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
FLOT1: May act as a scaffolding protein within caveolar membranes, functionally participating in formation of caveolae or caveolae-like vesicles. Heterooligomeric complex of flotillin-1 and flotillin-2 and caveolin-1 and caveolin-2. Interacts with ECM29. Belongs to the band 7/mec-2 family. Flotillin subfamily. Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p21.3. Cellular Component: signalosome; focal adhesion; membrane; lysosomal membrane; integral to membrane; melanosome; microtubule organizing center; flotillin complex; caveola; endosome; sarcolemma; lipid raft.
