reactivity :
Mouse
specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of ACTG2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between ACTG2 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between ACTG2 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
storage stability :
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Assay Type: Competitive. Sensitivity: 0.1 mug/mL.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This ACTG2 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Mouse ACTG2. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

products description :
Principle of the assay: ACTG2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-ACTG2 antibody and an ACTG2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with ACTG2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the ACTG2 concentration since ACTG2 from samples and ACTG2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-ACTG2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by ACTG2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind ACTG2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ACTG2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

ncbi summary :
Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and in the maintenance of the cytoskeleton. Three types of actins, alpha, beta and gamma, have been identified in vertebrates. Alpha actins are found in muscle tissues and are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. The beta and gamma actins co-exist in most cell types as components of the cytoskeleton and as mediators of internal cell motility. This gene encodes actin gamma 2; a smooth muscle actin found in enteric tissues. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Based on similarity to peptide cleavage of related actins, the mature protein of this gene is formed by removal of two N-terminal peptides.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
uniprot summary :
ACTG2: Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells. Polymerization of globular actin (G-actin) leads to a structural filament (F-actin) in the form of a two-stranded helix. Each actin can bind to 4 others. Belongs to the actin family. Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal; Contractile. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p13.1. Cellular Component: extracellular space; cytoskeleton; cytosol. Molecular Function: ATP binding. Biological Process: muscle contraction. Disease: Visceral Myopathy
