specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of fish trypsin. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between fish trypsin and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 0.312 ng/ml -20 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of fish trypsin is typically less than 0.156 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest fish trypsin concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to trypsin. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated trypsin. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP-conjugated trypsin and trypsin in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of trypsin in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a trypsinogen, which is a member of the trypsin family of serine proteases. This enzyme is secreted by the pancreas and cleaved to its active form in the small intestine. It is active on peptide linkages involving the carboxyl group of lysine or arginine. Mutations in this gene are associated with hereditary pancreatitis. This gene and several other trypsinogen genes are localized to the T cell receptor beta locus on chromosome 7. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
Function: Has activity against the synthetic substrates Boc-Phe-Ser-Arg-Mec, Boc-Leu-Thr-Arg-Mec, Boc-Gln-Ala-Arg-Mec and Boc-Val-Pro-Arg-Mec. The single-chain form is more active than the two-chain form against all of these substrates.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.9. Catalytic activity: Preferential cleavage: Arg- -Xaa, Lys- -Xaa. Cofactor: Binds 1 calcium ion per subunit.
