Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 1.56 ng/ml -100 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of mouse F8aLC is typically less than 0.39 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.

Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with F8aLC. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for F8aLC. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated F8aLC and F8aLC in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of F8aLC in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
