specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human ADAM10. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human ADAM10 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma and tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 7.8 pg/ml -500 pg/ml. Sensitivity: 1.95 pg/ml.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for ADAM10 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ADAM10 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ADAM10 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ADAM10 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
Members of the ADAM family are cell surface proteins with a unique structure possessing both potential adhesion and protease domains. This gene encodes and ADAM family member that cleaves many proteins including TNF-alpha and E-cadherin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
Function: Cleaves the membrane-bound precursor of TNF-alpha at '76-Ala- -Val-77' to its mature soluble form. Responsible for the proteolytical release of soluble JAM3 from endothelial cells surface. Responsible for the proteolytic release of several other cell-surface proteins, including heparin-binding epidermal growth-like factor, ephrin-A2 and for constitutive and regulated alpha-secretase cleavage of amyloid precursor protein (APP). Contributes to the normal cleavage of the cellular prion protein. Involved in the cleavage of the adhesion molecule L1 at the cell surface and in released membrane vesicles, suggesting a vesicle-based protease activity. Controls also the proteolytic processing of Notch and mediates lateral inhibition during neurogenesis. Responsible for the FasL ectodomain shedding and for the generation of the remnant ADAM10-processed FasL (FasL APL) transmembrane form. Also cleaves the ectodomain of the integral membrane proteins CORIN and ITM2B. May regulate the EFNA5-EPHA3 signaling.8 PublicationsManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.4. Catalytic activity: Endopeptidase of broad specificity. Cofactor: Binds 1 zinc ion
