specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of rabbit MMP-13. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between rabbit MMP-13 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 375 pg/ml-6000 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of rabbit MMP-13 is typically less than 187.5 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest rabbit MMP-13 concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to MMP-13. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Biotin-conjugated MMP-13. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between MMP-13 (Standards or samples) and Biotin-conjugated MMP-13 with the pre-coated antibody specific for MMP-13. The more amount of MMP-13 in samples, the less antibody bound by Biotin-conjugated MMP-13. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of MMP-13 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
Function: Plays a role in the degradation of extracellular matrix proteins including fibrillar collagen, fibronectin, TNC and ACAN. Cleaves triple helical collagens, including type I, type II and type III collagen, but has the highest activity with soluble type II collagen. Can also degrade collagen type IV, type XIV and type X. May also function by activating or degrading key regulatory proteins, such as TGFB1 and CTGF. Plays a role in wound healing, tissue remodeling, cartilage degradation, bone development, bone mineralization and ossification. Required for normal embryonic bone development and ossification. Plays a role in the healing of bone fractures via endochondral ossification. Plays a role in wound healing, probably by a mechanism that involves proteolytic activation of TGFB1 and degradation of CTGF. Plays a role in keratinocyte migration during wound healing. May play a role in cell migration and in tumor cell invasion . Cofactor: Calcium. Can bind about 5 calcium ions per subunit
