specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human sENG. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human sENG and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.156 ng/ml-10 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human sENG is typically less than 0.047 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for sENG has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any sENG present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for sENG is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of sENG bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a homodimeric transmembrane protein which is a major glycoprotein of the vascular endothelium. This protein is a component of the transforming growth factor beta receptor complex and it binds to the beta1 and beta3 peptides with high affinity. Mutations in this gene cause hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, also known as Osler-Rendu-Weber syndrome 1, an autosomal dominant multisystemic vascular dysplasia. This gene may also be involved in preeclampsia and several types of cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. uniprot summary :
Function: Major glycoprotein of vascular endothelium. Involved in the regulation of angiogenesis. May play a critical role in the binding of endothelial cells to integrins and/or other RGD receptors. Acts as TGF-beta coreceptor and is involved in the TGF-beta/BMP signaling cascade. Required for GDF2/BMP9 signaling through SMAD1 in endothelial cells and modulates TGF-beta1 signaling through SMAD3.2 PublicationsManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.9
