products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for Hsp-90 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Hsp-90 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for Hsp-90 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Hsp-90 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

uniprot summary :
Function: Molecular chaperone that promotes the maturation, structural maintenance and proper regulation of specific target proteins involved for instance in cell cycle control and signal transduction. Undergoes a functional cycle that is linked to its ATPase activity. This cycle probably induces conformational changes in the client proteins, thereby causing their activation. Interacts dynamically with various co-chaperones that modulate its substrate recognition, ATPase cycle and chaperone function Binds bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) et mediates LPS-induced inflammatory response, including TNF secretion UniRule annotationHAMAP-Rule:MF_00505
