other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.625 ug/ml-40 ug/ml. Sensitivity: 0.156 ug/ml
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV% is less than 8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV% is less than 10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess. Detection Wavelength: 450 nm. Sample Volume: 50-100ul
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for RNLS has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any RNLS present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for RNLS is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of RNLS bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
Renalase is a flavin adenine dinucleotide-dependent amine oxidase that is secreted into the blood from the kidney (Xu et al., 2005 [PubMed 15841207]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
uniprot summary :
Function: Catalyzes the oxidation of the less abundant alpha-NAD(P)H isoform to form beta-NAD(P)+. The enzyme hormone is secreted by the kidney, and circulates in blood and modulates cardiac function and systemic blood pressure. Lowers blood pressure in vivo by decreasing cardiac contractility and heart rate and preventing a compensatory increase in peripheral vascular tone, suggesting a causal link to the increased plasma catecholamine and heightened cardiovascular risk. High concentrations of catecholamines activate plasma renalase and promotes its secretion and synthesis.2 PublicationsManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.4. Catalytic activity: Alpha-NAD(P)H + O2 = beta-NAD(P)+ + H2O2.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.6. Cofactor: FAD.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.7
