Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of rabbit IMA is typically less than 15.6 mIU/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.

Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with IMA. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for IMA. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated IMA and IMA in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of IMA in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
