specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human CK-18. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human CK-18 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, Cell lysates, cell culture supernates. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.625 ng/ml-15 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human CK-18 is typically less than 0.25 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest human CK-18 concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for CK-18 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody specific for CK-18. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CK-18 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
KRT18 encodes the type I intermediate filament chain keratin 18. Keratin 18, together with its filament partner keratin 8, are perhaps the most commonly found members of the intermediate filament gene family. They are expressed in single layer epithelial tissues of the body. Mutations in this gene have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
Function: Involved in the uptake of thrombin-antithrombin complexes by hepatic cells When phosphorylated, plays a role in filament reorganization. Involved in the delivery of mutated CFTR to the plasma membrane. Together with KRT8, is involved in interleukin-6 (IL-6)-mediated barrier protection.7 PublicationsManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.11
