This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of bovine IL-8. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between bovine IL-8 and analogues was observed.

Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.

Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 50 pg/ml -2000 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of bovine IL-8 is typically less than 50 pg/ml.The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest bovine IL-8 concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.

Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with goat-anti-rabbit antibody. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with an antibody specific for IL-8 and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated IL-8. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled IL-8 and unlabeled IL-8 with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of IL-8 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
