specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of rabbit TGFbeta2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between rabbit TGFbeta2 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 3.12 ng/ml -50 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of rabbit TGFbeta2 is typically less than 3.12 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest rabbit TGFbeta2 concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TGFbeta2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Biotin-conjugated TGFbeta2. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between TGFbeta2 (Standards or samples) and Biotin-conjugated TGFbeta2 with the pre-coated antibody specific for TGFbeta2. The more amount of TGFbeta2 in samples, the less antibody bound by Biotin-conjugated TGFbeta2. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of TGFbeta2 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the transforming growth factor beta (TGFB) family of cytokines, which are multifunctional peptides that regulate proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, migration, and other functions in many cell types by transducing their signal through combinations of transmembrane type I and type II receptors (TGFBR1 and TGFBR2) and their downstream effectors, the SMAD proteins. Disruption of the TGFB/SMAD pathway has been implicated in a variety of human cancers. The encoded protein is secreted and has suppressive effects of interleukin-2 dependent T-cell growth. Translocation t(1;7)(q41;p21) between this gene and HDAC9 is associated with Peters' anomaly, a congenital defect of the anterior chamber of the eye. The knockout mice lacking this gene show perinatal mortality and a wide range of developmental, including cardiac, defects. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
