specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of rat IDO. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between rat IDO and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates. Assay Type: Quantitative Sandwich. Sensitivity: Typically less than 7.81 pg/ml.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for IDO has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any IDO present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IDO is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IDO bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
enzyme which catalyzes degradation of L-tryptophan to N-formylkynurenine; human homolog is induced by gamma-interferon and is believed to be involved in that agent's tumor antiproliferative effects [RGD, Feb 2006]
uniprot summary :
Function: Catalyzes the cleavage of the pyrrol ring of tryptophan and incorporates both atoms of a molecule of oxygen . Catalytic activity: D-tryptophan + O2 = N-formyl-D-kynurenine. Cofactor: Binds 1 heme group per subunit . Enzyme regulation: Activity is inhibited by and MTH-trp (methylthiohydantoin-DL-tryptophan), modestly inhibited by L-1MT (1-methyl-L-tryptophan) but not D-1MT (1-methyl-D-tryptophan)
