This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of mouse AMH. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between mouse AMH and analogues was observed.

Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 0.38 ng/ml -150 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of mouse AMH is typically less than 0.38 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest mouse AMH concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.

Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with goat-anti-rabbit antibody. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with an antibody specific for AMH and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated AMH. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled AMH and unlabeled AMH with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of AMH in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

This gene is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily of growth and differentiation factors. The encoded protein is produced in fetal Sertoli cells during male gonadal differentiation. The protein binds to the anti-Mullerian hormone receptor type 2 and causes the regression of Mullerian ducts in developing male embryos. In humans, some mutations in this gene are associated with persistent Mullerian duct syndrome (PMDS). [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]

Function: This glycoprotein, produced by the Sertoli cells of the testis, causes regression of the Muellerian duct. It is also able to inhibit the growth of tumors derived from tissues of Muellerian duct origin.
