Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 4 pg/ml -800 pg/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of human INH-B is typically less than 2 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest human INH-B concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined by adding two standard deviations to the mean optical density value of twenty zero standard replicates and calculating the corresponding concentration.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with goat-anti-rabbit antibody. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with an antibody specific for INH-B and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated INH-B. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled INH-B and unlabeled INH-B with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of INH-B in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
