Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
other info1 :
Samples: Serum, plasma and tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 10 uIU/ml -4000 uIU/ml. Sensitivity: 10uIU/ml.
other info2 :
Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
products description :
Principle of the Assay This assay employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with goat-anti-rabbit antibody. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with an antibody specific for PRL and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated PRL. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled PRL and unlabeled PRL with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of PRL in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes the anterior pituitary hormone prolactin. This secreted hormone is a growth regulator for many tissues, including cells of the immune system. It may also play a role in cell survival by suppressing apoptosis, and it is essential for lactation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
uniprot summary :
Function: Prolactin acts primarily on the mammary gland by promoting lactation.
