Testing Data
other info1 :
Authenticity: Verified by N-terminal and Mass Spectometry analyses (when applicable). Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract total human lymphocyte population and total murine T cell population using a concentration range of 1.0-10.0 ng/ml. Endotoxin: Endotoxin level is <0.1 ng/ug of protein (<1EU/ug). Protein Content: Verified by UV Spectroscopy and /or SDS-PAGE gel.
other info2 :
Reconstitution: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL/ Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, It is recommended to furter dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.

products description :
RANTES is a CC-chemokine that can signal through the CCR1, CCR3, CCR5 and US28 (cytomegalovirus receptor) receptors. It is a chemoattractant towards monocytes, memory T cells (CD4+/CD45RO), basophils, and eosinophils. RANTES also has the capability to inhibit certain strains of HIV-1, HIV-2 and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). Recombinant murine RANTES is a 7.8 kDa protein containing 68 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in the CC chemokines.

uniprot summary :
CCL5: Chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T-helper cells and eosinophils. Causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils. Binds to CCR1, CCR3, CCR4 and CCR5. One of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T- cells. Recombinant RANTES protein induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). The processed form RANTES(3-68) acts as a natural chemotaxis inhibitor and is a more potent inhibitor of HIV-1-infection. The second processed form RANTES(4-68) exhibits reduced chemotactic and HIV-suppressive activity compared with RANTES(1-68) and RANTES(3-68) and is generated by an unidentified enzyme associated with monocytes and neutrophils. By mitogens. T-cell and macrophage specific. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
