other info1 :
Preparation: This antibody was produced from a hybridoma (mouse myeloma fused with spleen cells from a rat) immunized with mouse recombinant protein of PCPE-1.
other info2 :
Reconstitution: Reconstitute the antibody with 200 ul sterile PBS and the final concentration is 500 ug/ml. Antigen: recombinant mouse PCPE-1. Note: This antibody detects specifically mouse PCPE-1 with Western Blot (WB).
products description :
Procollagen Cendopeptidase enhancers, known as PCPEs or PCOLCEs, are secreted extracellular matrix glycoproteins that consist of two CUB domains and one NTR domain. They are known to stimulate enzymatic cleavage of procollagens IIII by the BMP-1/ tolloid family of metallo-proteases, also known as procollagen Cproteinases. PCPE1 is expressed primarily by interstitial connective tissues such as tendons, calvaria, and skin. Although BMP1/ tolloid proteinases are involved in processing of multiple extracellular proteins, the enhancer activity of PCPE1 is specific to procollagens since it has no effect on BMP1/ tolloid cleavage of other substrates. It is thought that PCPE1 enhances cleavage of procollagens by binding to the substrate, inducing a conformation change in the substrate, although interaction between PCPE-1 and fulllength BMP-1/ tolloid proteinases has also been reported.

uniprot summary :
Function: Binds to the C-terminal propeptide of type I procollagen and enhances procollagen C-proteinase activity. Subcellular location: Secreted. Tissue specificity: Expressed in interstitial connective tissues like tendons, calvaria, skin and at a lower level in heart and skeletal muscle. Ref.5. Post-translational modification: Processed from a 55 kDa form to 36 kDa and 34 kDa forms. Sequence similarities: Contains 2 CUB domains.Contains 1 NTR domain. Sequence caution: The sequence CAA40612.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Frameshift at positions 391 and 445.
