Low Endotoxin, Azide - Free (LE/AF)
storage stability :
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C. The low endotoxin, azide-free (LE/AF) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of PBS. Aliquot and store at or below -20 degree C. Aliquot and freeze the low endotoxin, azide-free product at -20 degree C immediately upon receipt. Each reagent is stable for the period shown on the bottle label if stored as directed.
tested application :
ELISA; Western Blot
app notes :
Research Application(s): ELISA Capture: MP1-22E9 monoclonal antibody is useful as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying mouse GM-CSF protein levels. Purified MP1-22E9 antibody should be paired with biotinylated MP1-31G6 antibody as the detection antibody, with purified recombinant mouse GM-CSF as the standard. Western Blotting: The purified MP1-22E9 antibody is also useful for Western blotting applications. For Western blotting, a concentration of 1-5 ug/mL (in conjunction with AP-labeled Goat Anti-Rat-Ig) has been found to enable detection of <= 100 ng/lane of recombinant mouse GM-CSF under reducing conditions. Neutralization: The LE/AF form of MP1-22E9 can be used for neutralizing mouse GM-CSF bioactivity. A suitable LE/AF Rat IgG2a should be used as an isotype control. Since applications vary, each investigator should determine the optimal concentration appropriate for individual applications.
other info1 :
Immunogen: Yeast-expressed recombinant mouse GM-CSF
other info2 :
Characterization: To ensure acceptable performance, each batch of product is tested in a sandwich ELISA to conform to characteristics of a standard reference reagent.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that controls the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes and macrophages. The active form of the protein is found extracellularly as a homodimer. This gene has been localized to a cluster of related genes at chromosome region 5q31, which is known to be associated with interstitial deletions in the 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. Other genes in the cluster include those encoding interleukins 4, 5, and 13. [provided by RefSeq]
uniprot summary :
Function: Cytokine that stimulates the growth and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells from various lineages, including granulocytes, macrophages, eosinophils and erythrocytes. Subunit structure: Monomer. Subcellular location: Secreted. Polymorphism: Variant Ile-117 may be a risk factor for atopic asthma. Pharmaceutical use: Available under the names Leukine (Immunex) and Leucomax (Novartis). Used in myeloid reconstitution following bone marrow transplant, bone marrow transplant engraftment failure or delay, mobilization and following transplantation of autologous peripheral blood progenitor cells, and following induction chemotherapy in older adults with acute myelogenous leukemia. Sequence similarities: Belongs to the GM-CSF family.
