form :
Purified (UNLB) Antibody
storage stability :
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C. The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate is supplied as 100 tests in 1.0 mL PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C. The biotin (BIOT) conjugate is supplied as 0.5 mg labeled antibody in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C. Reagents are stable for the period shown on the label if stored as directed.
tested application :
ELISA
app notes :
Research Application(s): ELISA Detection: TC11-8H4 monoclonal antibody is useful as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying mouse IL-17 protein levels. Biotinylated TC11-8H4 antibody should be paired with purified TC11-18H10 antibody as the capture antibody, with purified recombinant mouse IL- 17 as the standard. Since applications vary, each investigator should determine the optimal concentration appropriate for individual applications.
other info1 :
Immunogen: E. coli-expressed recombinant mouse IL-17
other info2 :
Characterization: To ensure acceptable performance, each batch of product is tested in a sandwich ELISA to conform to characteristics of a standard reference reagent.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
Function: Induces stromal cells to produce proinflammatory and hematopoietic cytokines. Enhances the surface expression of ICAM1/intracellular adhesion molecule 1 in fibroblasts. Subunit structure: Homodimer. Ref.8. Subcellular location: Secreted. Tissue specificity: Restricted to activated memory T-cells. Post-translational modification: Found both in glycosylated and nonglycosylated forms. Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IL-17 family.
