Purified (UNLB) Antibody
storage stability :
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C. The low endotoxin, azide-free (LE/AF) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of PBS. Aliquot and store at or below -20 degree C. Reagents are stable for the period shown on the label if stored as directed.
tested application :
ELISA; Flow Cytometry; Immunofluorescence; Western Blot
app notes :
Research Application(s): ELISA Capture: BVD4-1D11 monoclonal antibody is useful as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying mouse IL-4 protein levels.1-4 Purified BVD4-1D11 antibody should be paired with biotinylated BVD6-24G2 antibody as the detection antibody, with purified recombinant mouse IL-4 as the standard. Immunofluorescence/Flow Cytometry: BVD4-1D11 antibody is useful for intracytoplasmic staining and flow cytometric analysis to identify and enumerate IL-4-positive cells within mixed cell populations. Recombinant mouse IL-4, unlabeled Rat IgG2b should be used as a specificity control. Western Blotting: The purified BVD4-1D11 antibody is also useful for Western blotting applications. For Western blotting, a concentration of 1-5 ug/mL (in conjunction with AP-labeled Goat Anti-Rat-Ig) has been found to enable detection of <= 100 ng/lane of recombinant mouse IL-4 under reducing conditions. Neutralization: The LE/AF form of BVD4-1D11 can be used for neutralizing mouse IL-4 bioactivity. A suitable LE/AF Rat IgG2b should be used as an isotype control. Since applications vary, each investigator should determine the optimal concentration appropriate for individual applications.
other info1 :
Immunogen: E. coli-expressed recombinant mouse IL-4
other info2 :
Characterization: To ensure acceptable performance, each batch of product is tested in a sandwich ELISA to conform to characteristics of a standard reference reagent.

uniprot summary :
Function: Participates in at least several B-cell activation processes as well as of other cell types. It is a costimulator of DNA-synthesis. It induces the expression of class II MHC molecules on resting B-cells. It enhances both secretion and cell surface expression of IgE and IgG1. It also regulates the expression of the low affinity Fc receptor for IgE (CD23) on both lymphocytes and monocytes. Subcellular location: Secreted. Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IL-4/IL-13 family.
