Research Application(s): ELISA Detection: B27 monoclonal antibody is useful as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying human IFN- gamma protein levels.1,2 Biotinylated B27 antibody should be paired with purified A35 antibody as the capture antibody, with purified recombinant human IFN- gamma as the standard. Immunofluorescence/Flow Cytometry: B27 antibodies are useful for intracytoplasmic staining and flow cytometric analysis to identify and enumerate IFN- gamma -positive cells within mixed cell populations. Recombinant human IFN- gamma, unlabeled B27, or Rat IgG1 should be used as a specificity control. Immunoprecipitation: The B27 antibody has been reported to be useful for immunoprecipitation.1. Post-translational modification: Proteolytic processing produces C-terminal heterogeneity, with proteins ending alternatively at Gly-150, Met-157 or Gly-161. Involvement in disease: In Caucasians, genetic variation in IFNG is associated with the risk of aplastic anemia (AA) [. MIM:609135]. AA is a rare disease in which the reduction of the circulating blood cells results from damage to the stem cell pool in bone marrow.
