other info1 :
Performance: Five x 10 5 cultured human Raji cells were washed and incubated 45 minutes on ice with 80 ul of anti-CD38/Biotin at 5 ug/ml. Cells were washed twice and incubated with 2 degree reagent Streptavidin/R-PE after which they were washed three times, fixed and analyzed by FACS. Cells stained positive with a mean shift of 1.94 log 10 fluorescent units when compared to a Mouse IgG1/Biotin negative control (MBS666714) at a similar concentration. Binding was blocked when cells were pre incubated 10 minutes with 20 ul of 0.5 mg/ml anti-CD38 antibody (MBS666469). Buffer: 50 mM Sodium Phosphate pH 7.5, 100 mM Potassium Chloride, 150mM NaCl, 5% Glycerol, 0.2% BSA, 0.04% NaN 3 (as a preservative).
other info2 :
Conjugation: FITC
. Production: Protein A purified antibody from tissue culture supernatant was reacted with FITC. Unconjugated FITC was separated from antibody/FITC conjugate by desalting column. The antibody/FITC conjugate is at 0.25 mg/mL with a Fluorescein/IgG molar ratio of 7.1.
products description :
Information: Human CD38 is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with bifunctional ectoenzyme activity catalyzing both synthesis and hydrolysis of cyclic ADP ribose (1). CD38 is involved in lymphocyte activation and adhesion to endothelium and has recently been identified as a counter-receptor of CD31 (2). Antibody AT1 recognizes the CD38 molecule of 45 kd.

ncbi summary :
CD38 is a novel multifunctional ectoenzyme widely expressed in cells and tissues especially in leukocytes. CD38 also functions in cell adhesion, signal transduction and calcium signaling. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
CD38: Synthesizes cyclic ADP-ribose, a second messenger for glucose-induced insulin secretion. Also has cADPr hydrolase activity. Also moonlights as a receptor in cells of the immune system. Belongs to the ADP-ribosyl cyclase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: EC 3.2.2.6; Membrane protein, integral; Lyase; Apoptosis; EC 2.4.99.20; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - nicotinate and nicotinamide; Cell cycle regulation; Hydrolase; Cell surface.
