products description :
Interleukin 32 isoform A belongs to cytokine family. This protein expression is increased after the activation of T-cells by mitogens or the activation of NK cells by IL-2. It has the ability to induce proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF_ and IL8 in THP1 cells, and activates typical cytokine signaling pathways involving NF_B and p38. IL-32 can also support osteoclast differentiation but not osteoclast activation by regulating the MAPK/ERK pathway and the actin cytoskeleton. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-131 of human of human interleukin 32, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli.
ncbi mol weight :
19.1kD (168aa)
ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the cytokine family. The protein contains a tyrosine sulfation site, 3 potential N-myristoylation sites, multiple putative phosphorylation sites, and an RGD cell-attachment sequence. Expression of this protein is increased after the activation of T-cells by mitogens or the activation of NK cells by IL-2. This protein induces the production of TNFalpha from macrophage cells. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq]
uniprot summary :
Function: Cytokine that may play a role in innate and adaptive immune responses. It induces various cytokines such as TNFA/TNF-alpha and IL8. It activates typical cytokine signal pathways of NF-kappa-B and p38 MAPK. Ref.2. Subcellular location: Secreted Ref.2. Tissue specificity: Selectively expressed in lymphocytes. Expression more prominent in immunce cells than in non-immune cells. Ref.2. Induction: Expression increased after activation of T-cells by mitogens or activation of NK cells by IL2/interleukin-2.
