Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors and selectivity profiling. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Specific Activity: Lot-specific. Sample Lot Value: 1292 pmol/min/ug

Assay Conditions: 10mM Tris-HCI, pH 7.4, 10mM MgCI2, 0.1mg/ml BSA, 0.05% tween-20, 200uM cAMP and serial dilutions of MBS637335 at 37 degree C for 20 minutes. Quantified by 5'nucleotidase cleaving the 5'-AMP product and releasing the phosophate group which is detected by Malachite Green Reagent.

This gene encodes a member of the cGMP-inhibited cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (cGI-PDE) family. cGI-PDE enzymes hydrolyze both cAMP and cGMP, and play critical roles in many cellular processes by regulating the amplitude and duration of intracellular cyclic nucleotide signals. The encoded protein mediates platelet aggregation and also plays important roles in cardiovascular function by regulating vascular smooth muscle contraction and relaxation. Inhibitors of the encoded protein may be effective in treating congestive heart failure. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.
