Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 5-10ug/ml for 2 hrs at RT. Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:50-1:100 for 20 minutes at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

products description :
NF kappa B is a heterodimer consisting of a 50kD DNA binding subunit and a 65kD transactivating subunit (RelA). The p50/p65 heterodime is present in the cytoplasm in inactive form bound to its inhibitor, IkB. Upon stimulation of cells with stimuli like LPS, Interleukin-1, IkB gets phosphorylated and degraded by proteosomes releasing the activated NFkB which goes to the nucleus inducing gene expression. NFkB was originally identified as transcriptional activator for kappa light cahain gene in B cells.

uniprot summary :
NKIRAS2: Atypical Ras-like protein that acts as a potent regulator of NF-kappa-B activity by preventing the degradation of NF-kappa-B inhibitor beta (NFKBIB) by most signals, explaining why NFKBIB is more resistant to degradation. May act by blocking phosphorylation of NFKBIB and nuclear localization of p65/RELA NF- kappa-B subunit. It is unclear whether it acts as a GTPase. Both GTP- and GDP-bound forms block phosphorylation of NFKBIB. Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Ras family. KappaB-Ras subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: G protein, monomeric, Ras; G protein; G protein, monomeric. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q21.2. Cellular Component: membrane; cytoplasm. Molecular Function: GTPase activity; GTP binding. Biological Process: I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; metabolic process; small GTPase mediated signal transduction
