products description :
NY-ESO-1 is a member of the cancer/testis (CT) family of antigens. Cancer/testis antigens are expressed in a range of malignant neoplasmas such as melanoma and carcinomas of the breast, ovary and lung, but not in normal tissue except in testis. NY-ESO-1 is a classic CT antigen discovered during a SEREX analysis of esophageal cancer. It is a 22-23kD hydrophobic protein.

uniprot summary :
CTAG1B: is an antigen that is overexpressed in many cancers but that is also expressed in normal testis. This gene is found in a duplicated region of the X-chromosome and therefore has a neighboring gene of identical sequence. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]. Protein type: Cancer Testis Antigen (CTA). Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq28. Cellular Component: cytoplasm. Molecular Function: protein binding
