products description :
NF-kB (nuclear factor kB) regulates the expression of a large number of genes that play critical roles in apoptosis, viral replication, tumorigenesis, various autoimmune diseases and inflammation. The zinc finger protein A20 is a tumor necrosis factor and interleukin 1 (IL-1)-inducible protein that negatively regulates NF-kB gene expression. A20 inhibits NF-kB dependent gene expression by interfering with a novel TNF-induced and RIP- or TRAF2-mediated pathway that is different from the NIK-IkB kinase pathway. A20 is expressed at low levels in most organs, the highest expression levels being in lymphoid tissues.
