catalog number :
MBS600657
products full name :
Peptidoglycan, Streptococcus mutans (PG)
products short name :
Peptidoglycan, Streptococcus mutans
products name syn :
Anti -Peptidoglycan, Streptococcus mutans (PG)
other names :
prophage LambdaSa03, peptidoglycan endolysin
specificity :
Recognizes the three-dimensional polymer complex structure of PG. The epitopes appear to consist of discontinuous glycan and/or amino acid residues and have not been fully defined. In a competitive immunoassay format, several compounds were found to be ineffective as inhibitors: muramyldipeptide, N-acetylglucosamine (NAG), chitin (polymer of NAG) and acid-hydrolyzed chitin (NAG oligomers).
purity :
Ascites. Ascites
form :
Supplied as a liquid. No preservatives added.
storage stability :
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
tested application :
ELISA (EL/EIA), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Dot Blot
app notes :
Suitable for use in ELISA, Dot Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Reported by an independent laboratory to be suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry (frozen & paraffin) and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: Competitive or solid phase. Immunocytochemistry: Although PG is a bacterial surface component, pretreatments, such as treatment with strong acid, for Gram-positive bacteria, or with a detergent, such as SDS, for Gram-negative bacteria, may be necessary to expose the epitopes.
other info1 :
Immunogen: Insoluble PG obtained by TCA-heat and ethanol extraction of Streptococcus mutans BHT cells.
other info2 :
Procedure Note: Although PG is a bacterial surface component, pretreatments, such as treatment with strong acid, fro Gram-positive bacteria, or with a detergent, such as SDS, for Gram-negative bacteria, may be necessary to expose the epitopes.
products categories :
Antibodies; Abs to Carbohydrates, Glycoproteins
products description :
Peptidoglycan is a polymer of glycopeptide linking N-acetyl or N-glycorylmuramic acid and peptide containing D-amino acid, and is a constituent of the cell wall in most prokaryotes. It is known that this substance is pyrogenic and initiates a variety of physiological activities such as pyrogenicity and reactivity with SLP Reagent 1 body fluid from silkworm.
