Chromatographically purified Human Bence Jones lambda protein.

Lyophilized, stable white powder

This product is shipped lyophilized at ambient temperature. After arrival store at +4°C. Prolonged storage may be at -20 degree C. The lyophilized content is reconstituted by adding 0.5 ml of sterile distilled water, mixed gently by inversion until complete dissolution is obtained. Allow to stand at ambient temperature for 5-10 minutes to reach equilibrium. Reconstituted solution may be stored frozen. Working dilutions may be prepared by adding the required amount of phosphate buffered saline (PBS), should not be refrozen and preferably used within 24 hours. Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation and will not affect the performance of the product. Lyophilized at +4 degree C at least 10 years. Reconstituted at or below -20 degree C 3-5 years. Reconstituted at +4 degree C 7 days.

Not less than 98% as determined by agar-gel electrophoresis, quantitative densitometry immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. Preservative: No preservative . To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water.

Purified human Bence Jones lambda protein may be used as a reference antigen, calibrator, coating protein and blocking agent in a variety of immunoassays including immunodiffusion, immunoelectrophoresis, ELISA, Western blotting and dotimmunobinding assays (DIBA).
