Chickens were immunized with Digoxigenin conjugated to a protein carrier. Eggs were collected and an IgY fraction was prepared. The resulting fraction was passed over an antigen containing immunoabsorbant from which the anti-digoxigenin antibodies were immunoaffinity purified. Purification was followed by conjugation with horseradish peroxidase (HRP).
