Supplied lyophilized from 20mM Potassium Phosphate and 150mM NaCl, pH 7.2, with 10mg/ml BSA (IgG and Protease Free), and 0.01% Gentamicin Sulfate. Reconstitute with 1ml deionized water. DO NOT add Sodium Azide!
storage stability :
Ships ambient or refrigerated. Upon receipt store at 4°C short term, -20°C long term while lyophilized . After reconstituted, store at 4°C for short term,-20°C . Avoid repeat freeze-thaws.

ELISA: 1:20,000-1:200,000. IHC: 1:1,000-1:5,000. WB: 1:10,000-1:40,000. Do NOT and Sodium Azide, it inhibits horseradish peroxidase. A single precipitin arc was observed against anti-Peroxidase and anti-Streptavidin when assayed by immunoelectrophoresis. No reaction was observed against anti-Avidin.

Protein Type: Binding Protein. Biological Significance: Streptavidin is a 52,800 dalton tetrameric protein purified from the bacterium Streptomyces avidinii. It has an extraordinarily high affinity for biotin (also known as vitamin B7); the dissociation constant (kDa) of the biotin-streptavidin complex is on the order of ~10-14 mol/L, making it one of the strongest non-covalent interactions known in nature. It is used extensively in molecular biology and bionanotechnology as, in addition to the high affinity, biotin-binding is resistant to extremes of pH, temperature, organic solvents, denaturants, detergents and proteolytic enzymes.
