other info1 :
Protein Type: Recombinant. Biological Significance: IL17F, a member of the IL17 family of structurally related cytokines, has been shown to stimulate proliferation and activation of T-cells and PBMCs. IL17F also regulates cartilage matrix turnover and inhibits angiogenesis. Endotoxin Levels: Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per ug (1 EU/ug).

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that shares sequence similarity with IL17. This cytokine is expressed by activated T cells, and has been shown to stimulate the production of several other cytokines, including IL6, IL8, and CSF2/GM_CSF. This cytokine is also found to inhibit the angiogenesis of endothelial cells and induce endothelial cells to produce IL2, TGFB1/TGFB, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
IL17F: Stimulates the production of other cytokines such as IL- 6, IL-8 and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, and can regulate cartilage matrix turnover. Stimulates PBMC and T-cell proliferation. Inhibits angiogenesis. Defects in IL17F are the cause of familial candidiasis type 6 (CANDF6). CANDF6 is a rare disorder with altered immune responses and impaired clearance of fungal infections, selective against Candida. It is characterized by persistent and/or recurrent infections of the skin, nails and mucous membranes caused by organisms of the genus Candida, mainly Candida albicans. Belongs to the IL-17 family. Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide; Cytokine. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p12. Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region. Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor binding; cytokine binding; cytokine activity. Biological Process: proteoglycan metabolic process; negative regulation of angiogenesis; regulation of transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway; regulation of interleukin-8 biosynthetic process; regulation of granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor biosynthetic process; cytokine biosynthetic process; cartilage development; lymphotoxin A biosynthetic process; regulation of interleukin-2 biosynthetic process; regulation of interleukin-6 biosynthetic process; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; inflammatory response. Disease: Candidiasis, Familial, 6
