Biological Significance: Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is a form of hemoglobin which is measured primarily to identify the average plasma glucose concentration over prolonged periods of time. It is formed in a non-enzymatic glycation pathway by hemoglobin's exposure to plasma glucose. The non - glycosylated hemoglobin, which consists of the bulk ofhemoglobin, has been designated HbAo.

Contaminants: No reaction against any glycohemoglobins, including HbA1a, HbA1b, HbF, and HbAo. Biohazard: Venouse blood tested non-reactive for HBsAg by an FDA approved method, and negative for anti-HIV.
