Protein Type: Native. Biohazard: The donor material has been tested by FDA approved methods and found negative for HIV 1/2 antibodies, HCV antibodies, HIV-1 and HCV by NAT and HBsAg. Since no test can offer complete assurance, handle with precaution. Biological Significance: Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by the cells of the prostate gland. PSA is present in small quantities in the serum of men with healthy prostates, but is often elevated in the presence of prostate cancer and in other prostate disorders. Grade: Ultra pure

Contaminants: None Detected. Biohazard Information: Donor samples were tested and found to be negative for HIV I/II, and HCV antibodies, and Hepatitis B surface antigen. Nonetheless caution should be used when handling this material as there is a margin of error in all tests. This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product. Additional Remarks: Manufacturing date: 05-04-2016. PSA tends to settle at the bottom of the vial over time. This material should be brought to room temperature and mixed gently on a rotating type mixer prior to dispensing or assay. Dilutions should be made in a buffered solution at neutral pH which has been inactivated for serum proteases. Avoid filtration of concentrated PSA stock solution.
