other info1 :
Source Note: Anti-human 14-3-3 beta antibody, clone J2E9, is derived from hybridization of mouse FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human YWHAB protein. Biological Significance: The 14-3-3 family plays a key regulatory role in signal transduction, checkpoint control, apoptotic and nutrient-sensing pathways. 14-3-3 proteins are highly conserved and ubiquitously expressed. There are at least seven isoforms, beta, gamma, epsilon, sigma, zeta, tau and theta that have been identified in mammals. The 14-3-3 beta, a subtype of the 14-3-3 proteins, was found in B Cells, brain and liver etc. This 14-3-3 beta has been shown to interact with RAF1 and CDC25 phosphatases, suggesting that it may play a role in linking mitogenic signaling and the cell cycle machinery.
other info2 :
Immunogen: 14-3-3 beta antibody was raised in mouse using recombinant human 14-3-3 beta (1-246aa) purified from E Coli as the immunogen.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a protein belonging to the 14-3-3 family of proteins, members of which mediate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins. This highly conserved protein family is found in both plants and mammals. The encoded protein has been shown to interact with RAF1 and CDC25 phosphatases, suggesting that it may play a role in linking mitogenic signaling and the cell cycle machinery. Two transcript variants, which encode the same protein, have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
