Troponin T antibody (Cardiac) was purified by chromatography on protein A Sepharose.

Protein A purified and supplied in PBS, pH 7.4, with 0.1 % NaN3.

Biological Significance: Troponin T is a part of the troponin complex. It binds to tropomyosin, interlocking them to form a troponin-tropomyosin complex. Troponin T binds to tropomyosin and helps position it on actin. It also modulates contraction of striated muscle. The tissue specific subtypes are slow skeletal troponin T1, cardiac troponin T2, and fast skeletal troponin T3.

Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product. Immunogen: Troponin T antibody (cardiac) was raised in mouse using free human cTnT as the immunogen.

TNNT2: Troponin T is the tropomyosin-binding subunit of troponin, the thin filament regulatory complex which confers calcium-sensitivity to striated muscle actomyosin ATPase activity. Heart. The fetal heart shows a greater expression in the atrium than in the ventricle, while the adult heart shows a greater expression in the ventricle than in the atrium. Isoform 6 predominates in normal adult heart. Isoforms 1, 7 and 8 are expressed in fetal heart. Isoform 7 is also expressed in failing adult heart. Belongs to the troponin T family. 11 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Motor; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis.
