other info1 :
Biological Significance: Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is a hormone found in humans and other animals. It is synthesized and secreted by gonadotrophs of the anterior pituitary gland. FSH regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturation, and reproductive processes of the body. FSH and Luteinizing hormone (LH) act synergistically in reproduction.
other info2 :
Immunogen: FSH antibody was raised in mouse using high purity intact FSH from human pituitary gland as the immunogen.

ncbi summary :
The pituitary glycoprotein hormone family includes follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, chorionic gonadotropin, and thyroid-stimulating hormone. All of these glycoproteins consist of an identical alpha subunit and a hormone-specific beta subunit. This gene encodes the beta subunit of follicle-stimulating hormone. In conjunction with luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone induces egg and sperm production. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein. uniprot summary :
FSHB: Stimulates development of follicle and spermatogenesis in the reproductive organs. Defects in FSHB are a cause of isolated follicle- stimulating hormone deficiency (IFSHD). Selective follicle-stimulating hormone deficiency is an uncommon cause of infertility, producing amenorrhea and hypogonadism in women and oligo or azoospermia with normal testosterone levels in normally virilised men. Belongs to the glycoprotein hormones subunit beta family. Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p13. Cellular Component: cytoplasm; extracellular region. Molecular Function: follicle-stimulating hormone activity; protein binding; hormone activity. Biological Process: progesterone biosynthetic process; follicle-stimulating hormone signaling pathway; peptide hormone processing; female gamete generation; Sertoli cell proliferation; female pregnancy; signal transduction; cellular protein metabolic process; regulation of osteoclast differentiation; transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of bone resorption; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of cell migration. Disease: Follicle-stimulating Hormone Deficiency, Isolated
