products description :
anti-rat CD134 (OX40) monoclonal antibody recognizes an antigen related to NGF on activated T cells that also express CD4. It detects a single chain of 51-55 kDa (unreduced) and 47-51 kDa (reduced) in immunoprecipitation assay1. OX40/OX40L interaction has been shown to deliver a potent costimulatory signal to the CD4+ T cell4. While mouse OX40 shows 90% homology with rat, it is expressed on both CD4+ and CD8+ cells in the mouse. This antibody was shown to block binding of OX40L to OX403. This antibody is suitable for use in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry (frozen sections). It has also been reported as suitable for use in protein purification5.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor has been shown to activate NF-kappaB through its interaction with adaptor proteins TRAF2 and TRAF5. Knockout studies in mice suggested that this receptor promotes the expression of apoptosis inhibitors BCL2 and BCL2lL1/BCL2-XL, and thus suppresses apoptosis. The knockout studies also suggested the roles of this receptor in CD4+ T cell response, as well as in T cell-dependent B cell proliferation and differentiation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
Function: Receptor for TNFSF4/OX40L/GP34. Subunit structure: Interacts with TRAF2, TRAF3 and TRAF5. Ref.7 Ref.8. Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Sequence similarities: Contains 4 TNFR-Cys repeats. Sequence caution: The sequence AAB33944.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.
